“A window to pass through, or a door anywhere”
(2018 ATC Art Awards Exhibition Honorable Mention Selected Works)
.
“Never get close, understand?” It was said like that, so I tried not to get close to the window. The window was always open nearby, and I was occasionally driven by the urge to look in. The window looked so enchanting at times that I almost got sucked in.
Time passed, and when I had almost forgotten that the window existed, I suddenly approached the window and looked intently at it, and I realized that it was not a window, but a door. It was that door where I could go anywhere in the world as long as I closed my eyes and had a strong will to go and take a step forward.”

The attached sentence above is an image derived from the movie “Hotel New Hampshire” (original title: The Hotel New Hampshire) written as a scene from the story. And this sentence later became the motivation for creating this work.
In the movie, people who despaired of life took their own lives by being sucked into open “windows” on the upper floors one after another. “Window” was the entrance to a place in the story where we end up at the end of sorrow.
I thought it would be nice if the pure white world of light that can be seen on the other side of the swaying curtain is not a fictional world that can never be returned, and that it would lead to a continuous world I haven't seen yet.
And if that place were a shining world full of hope.

Painter/Painter
By using acrylic paint and incorporating mixed colors, accidental expressions, and sensory touches, they are created with an awareness of “paintings that appeal to the senses.”
Multiple styles have been developed, such as the “Mind Record” series, which is an attempt to keep fragments of memories flowing through me as they are, the “Object” series, which features rich textures using modeling paste, and the “Fixed Window” series, which depicts windows held by various people under the theme of “human boundaries.”
