Work Details
With this work, I express the way “individuals” exist in today's increasingly diversified society. The intricate undulations of the cloth, which has a metallic texture, symbolize the diverse values and ways of life that stand out like urban buildings, and at the same time, it is also a landscape of fluctuating emotions within us.
Paradoxically (paradoxically), I feel that as society diversifies, the outline of “individuals” that once stood out in a uniform society becomes rather vague. The irregular irregularities and shadows in this work express the elusive nature of “individual” in modern times.
The organic shape created by wrinkles on cloth also reflects the contradictory feelings within us. While seeking to be one's own personality, it is difficult to clearly define it. That uncertainty can sometimes cause anxiety. However, that complexity may be what we are living in the present day.
Through this work, it is a work that asks viewers questions about what an “individual” is in a diversifying society and how we can find ourselves.

Since 2023, based in Kyoto, I have been producing and exhibiting three-dimensional works.
Without being bound to specific materials, I focus on giving form to imagined images.
I continue to explore a broad range of methods and mediums, working from the position of a mediator—someone who brings internal images into material existence—while questioning whether the "pain," "friction," or "distortion" that arises in the process of realizing these images might be essential conditions for the work to retain its own autonomy.
