Work Details
「1回塗りよりも2回塗る方が美しく仕上がります」
ペンキ缶に記載されている文言を読み、「では10回塗ったらどうなる？20回塗り重ねたら？？」という疑問が湧き上がり、やってみる。10回塗り重ねて乾燥させ、壁にかけてみても見た目はそう変わらない。しかし、30回前後で塗面を眺めた時、何か不思議な奥行きを感じたのです。
刷毛を走らせ、ドライヤーで乾かす。アトリエにいる朝10:00～夜10:00の間で約30回塗り重ねて、1.6リットルのペンキ缶が底をつきます。
1色ごとに刷毛を代えて10色、作家の10日間の仕事、ジャンルはpaintingですが、この作品は「ペインティング」ではなく「タイミング」だと私は仮定しています。
日付けの入った刷毛と空になった缶もセットで、作家の「ある1日」を販売しています。
