「1回塗りよりも2回塗る方が美しく仕上がります」
ペンキの缶に記載されている文言を読み、「では10回塗ったらどうなる？20回塗ったら？？」という疑問が湧き上がり、やってみる。10回塗り重ねて壁にかけてみても見た目はそんなに変わらない。しかし、30回前後で塗面を見た時に何か不思議な奥行きを感じたのです。
アトリエにいる朝10:00～夜10:00の中で約30回塗り重ねて、1.6リットルのペンキ缶が底をつきます。1色ごとに刷毛を代えて10色、作家の10日間の仕事ですが、この作品は「ペインティング」ではありません。
