Work Details
When parts are blurred and the sense of the whole becomes stronger, I feel that emotions and the natural world become closer. It's a moment when you walk through a forest shrouded in fog, when you see the hazy atmosphere dyed bright red, or when your field of vision is covered by a pale blue layer due to heavy rain, and your body enters a certain sense of atmosphere. Since it is unclear at this time, awareness of distinguishing oneself from the world fades, and spiritual things seep into the environment, and the experience itself shakes the mind. It's a feeling that can also be replaced by awe of natural phenomena.
I created this group of works to focus on the connection between us and nature, which we notice only in such an ambiguous situation, and to explore why our emotions move in response to certain phenomena.

Artist
Abstract artist
I am Hiroshi Kaki, an abstract painter from Oita Prefecture.
My work focuses on the feelings and thoughts we experience when confronting phenomena found in nature—cycles, irregular patterns, and unpredictable movements. I prioritize the process, completing pieces while engaging in dialogue with natural forces like the way sunlight falls or water flows.
Through my work, I hope to deepen our connection with nature, savor the flow of all things, and bring joy to everyday life. I would be happy if my pieces not only offer daily healing and vitality but also help viewers notice the subtle wonders within their ordinary routines.
