I create as if to confirm my existence, though I cannot obtain the fact that I exist, or the memories or emotions in a tangible form.
The structure of covering the surface comes from a realization, that I could not completely shut out the light from outside, even when I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate.
Letting my thoughts out also comes with the concern of what others might think of me. So I arm this consciousness with decorations in order to protect it.

I had the opportunity of seeing Hayashi’s work at a review meeting I was invited as a guest for when she studied at the Aichi University of the Arts, Nami Yokoyama class; her work of the knife diligently drawn by pencil left an impression, and lead me to this recommendation. I wonder where this knife came from. I wonder if it’s from the dimension where kitchen-use is assumed, or from a dimension with a madness that may exist inside her where the use is as a weapon. By being depicted the knife has become a door to a different dimension, and it is an interesting piece of work from the point of reflecting on the meaning of drawing as the material transformation of a subject.
