gallery Unfold

gallery Unfold is dedicated to showcasing contemporary Asian art, with an emphasis on Taiwan, on the international scene. Through collaboration, exploration, research and curatorial initiatives, gallery Unfold not only presents contemporary Asian art but also works with artists whose practices resonate with contemporary issues, aiming to translate and convey the meaning and essence of the arts to a wider audience.

In the global art context, contemporary Asian art represents a field that is continuously thriving yet under-explored. It embodies notions that defy easy definition, constantly evolving, and forms that may appear peripheral yet encapsulate the essence of contemporary art and its ecology. Founded by the Taiwanese duo Mu-Wei Huang and Chien Lee, gallery Unfold draws on its unique sensibilities and experiences rooted in Taiwan, exploring various media while questioning existing artistic practices and presenting works that offer a unique perspective.
