He obtained a Ph.D. in Science through research in molecular biology, focusing on cancer and immunology with particular emphasis on mitochondria, intracellular organelles responsible for cellular energy production. He later transitioned to a career in ceramics.
Drawing on his experience in laboratory research involving repeated cell cultivation, his artistic practice explores themes such as intracellular energy, cellular proliferation, invasion, and dynamism. Integrating his scientific background, he creates sculptural ceramic works using independently developed clay bodies and glazes as a means of personal expression.
Born in Nara Prefecture, Japan. Currently based in Kanazawa.
