「update Ⅰ」シリーズは、AIの時間と人間の時間の差異を主題とする作品群だ。本作はそのうちの一つとなる
AIはプロンプト送信・更新の瞬間にのみ「時間」を生じさせ、その間には時間が存在しない。一方、銀箔という素材は空間や温度によって独自の速度で硫化・変色していく。AIが生成した花のイメージには枯れるべき被写体も物語も存在しないが、それを描いた銀箔は確かに時を刻む。この対比によって、デジタル技術に回収されつつある現代の一元的な時間に対し、我々に流れる時間を取り戻させることを目指している。
