Nyandy War

Artist, Creator

Born in Odawara-shi, Kanagawa-ken. After graduating from the high school art course, he graduated from Tokyo Polytechnic University, Faculty of Art, Department of Design, and worked in a wide range of fields as a graphic designer and art director. After the COVID-19 pandemic, ART production started using AI prompts. Aiming for ultimate healing (something psychologically positioned as creative regression) born from knowing the true self that lies dormant in the human subconscious mind, it is created with the aim of creating abstract works that bring deep empathy and introspection to the viewer. Also, beyond that, I would like to be able to ask questions of the times from my own point of view to society.

Biography

When I was a child, I was fascinated by the free colors and dreamy pictures that unfold in the world of picture books.
Along with that imaginative worldview, picture books stimulated my imagination and fostered my interest in art.

After that, I first met Impressionist painters in elementary and middle school art textbooks.
I was struck by the works of Monet, Renoir, and Cézanne, full of natural beauty and expression of light. Then I fell in love with Monet's water lilies at the Musée d'Orsay.

As a result, I was drawn to great painters of the past, and I can't stop naming names such as Dali, Magritte, Picasso, Sura, Chagall, Rousseau, Wyeth, Rockwell, Warhol, Okamoto Taro, Yokoo Tadanori, etc., but I still continue to feel the spread of sensibility in art. Manga artists who were also influenced were Tezuka Osamu, Fujiko Fujio, Toriyama Akira, Takahashi Rumiko, Fujiwara Kamui, Urasawa Naoki, Otomo Katsuhiro, Miyazaki Hayao, Katsura Masakazu, and Mevius.

At the same time, I was also interested in design. Since I was a kid, I've liked doodling things that look like corporate logos and writing letters in three dimensions due to the influence of Akira Toriyama. When I was 14 years old, I designed a logo for the 10th anniversary of a nearby kindergarten and received 3,000 yen for the first time, and that was my first step as a professional.

As for high school, I entered a high school specializing in art. While I was deeply immersed in the art world, I also became interested in the fusion of music and art. In particular, the record jacket design had the power to instantly convey the artist's musicality and the atmosphere of the album, and I admired that design. David Bowie's 5th album “Ziggy Stardust” was the first work that touched the heartstrings. Other than that, I continued to have limitless creativity and excitement at the moment when music and visual art intersect, such as the Beatles album jacket that I watched as a child, jacket art from the Shibuya area created by Mitsuo Shindo, and artwork from The Designers Republic in the 90s, etc., and after graduating from art college, I walked the path of design.

In recent years, I have stepped into an experimental worldview created by AI prompts and into fields of expression that I have not been able to embark on until now, and I am excited to feel that the possibilities are different from conventional art production.

The concept of the work is “creative regression.”
By looking at the work in everyday life and carefully facing the work, I aim to create a work that is an opportunity to search for the true self that lies dormant in one's subconscious mind and to regain the feelings that have been left behind.

“Creative regression” is a psychological term.
It means creativity created by crossing the energy of the mind between consciousness and unconsciousness. As people grow up, various emotions, obsessions, imprints, traumas, complexes, etc. are unconsciously trapped, and they live a social life called a persona.
I would be happy if you could find effects close to self-therapy and healing in your work, such as getting hints for problem solving and regaining creative energy by meeting your essential self hidden in such things.
