画像は「ヒライス」展示風景
2019年に開催した「ヒライス」(あらかわ画廊/東京)、「hiraeth」(BIOME/兵庫)での両個展にて発表した作品です。展覧会のタイトルにした「ヒライス」は、ウェールズ語で「帰れない場所への郷愁と哀切の気持ち。過去に失った場所や、永遠に存在しない場所に対しても使える」言葉で、日本語には丁度当てはまる‘単語’がないとのことです。
自分の制作の主題に通じるものを感じたので、この言葉を展覧会名にしました。
これまで形容しがたいと感じていた感情や現象が、海の向こうでは一言の単語で表現されてることに何か救われたような気持ちになりました。

Using her production as “a means to access a time you can't return to or a place you can't reach,” she paints oil paintings using fragments of her own memories as motifs. In addition to exhibitions, he also provides works to public spaces, and works on covers and food packaging.
