作品詳情
It is a work that expresses a moment when serenity and strength coexist in the appearance of a white tiger.
By layering white powder on the body carved from camphor and adding gold leaf lines and decorations, a stream of light was created within the white body.
The fine perforations applied to the body are more than just decoration.
As light enters and shadows are created, depth and change are created in the work itself.
The tiger's expression and body impression change depending on the viewing angle and how the light hits it.
Also, by arranging the four legs on a transparent green resin stand, it is structured so that the tiger's body floats in space.
Despite the fact that they are stepping out powerfully, there is silence at that moment.
“The silence just before starting to move” was put into the figure of a tiger.

RanjiroSculptor/Woodcarving/3DFocusing on wood carving, I create three-dimensional works that combine different materials such as powder, gold leaf, resin, and epoxy resin.Using animals and people as motifs, I capture not only the “shapes” created by carving wood, but also the “space” created by drilling, the “light” that shines into it, and even the “shadows” as part of the work. The warmth of wood, the white of the powder, the brilliance of gold leaf, and the depth of the transparent resin.By layering different materials, we aim to create a sense of life within a static sculpture.Animal works express the strength and serenity of each figure, such as tigers, dragons, deer, giraffes, and camels, and in character works, I create themes of memory, seasons, and life while combining natural objects such as flowers and fruits with human figures.Born in 1975 in Kumamoto. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture, and completed a master's program at the same university graduate school. In addition to domestic exhibitions, they have received domestic and international activities and awards for chainsaw carving, and are currently based in Yamakita, Kanagawa.
