Misato Kurimune (b. 1988, Hyogo, Japan) is a Japanese contemporary artist whose practice takes photography as a point of departure and incorporates lenticular structures, AI-based processes, and mixed media. Her work explores the relationship between vision, perception, memory, and reality through images that shift in response to the viewer’s position and bodily engagement. She investigates the act of seeing itself as a process through which images and a sense of reality come into being.Kurimune received her B.F.A. from Kyoto Seika University in 2011 and her M.F.A. in Printmaking from Kyoto Seika University in 2013.
