大型の木製の人形で、風見とおなじ原理で風向きを指し示す。風見は沿岸地方や農村地帯でよく見られ、今日でも屋根の上に設置される。この作家は最初、小型の風見を作っていたが、やがて回転して風向きを示す大型の「人形」へと変えていった。仕掛けには羽根が必ずついており、作品のバランスを取るとともに、抵抗によって回転運動を生みだす。

It is a wooden dummy, of large format, which observes the same principle of the pinwheels, which purpose is to show and mark the direction of the wind. Very common in the coastal environments and even in agricultural regions, today they are still used on the top of the houses’ roofs. Initially made with such function, in smaller sizes, the artist starts to enhance their forms creating “dummies”, where he preserves the capacities of movement and of pointing out the path of the wind, upon spinning. The blades, always present, work as a part of such device, acting on the balance of the work and operating, through the resistance it offers, as a trigger to its own movement.

Trata-se de um boneco de madeira, de grande formato, que obedece ao mesmo princípio dos “cataventos”, cujo objetivo é mostrar e marcar a direção dos ventos. Muito comuns nos ambientes litorâneos e mesmo nas regiões agrícolas, são ainda hoje utilizados no alto dos telhados das casas. Inicialmente feitos com esta função, em tamanhos menores, o artista passa a ampliar suas formas criando “bonecos”, nos quais preserva as capacidades de movimento e de apontar os caminhos dos ventos, ao girar. As pás, sempre presentes, funcionam como parte desse engenho, atuando no equilíbrio da obra e funcionando, pela resistência que oferece, como deflagrador do próprio movimento.
