陶器フィギュアの技法は1940年代に、農民や、土鍋職人や陶器職人の子らに始まった。当初は農村のアートで、時の流れとともに都市近郊の住民も加わった。作者の多くが農村世界で生活し、自然と密に触れ合っていたため、動物の登場する作品が数多く生まれた。この作品は動物を擬人化している。

A arte dos bonecos de barro é feita na década de 1940, sobretudo, por lavradores, filhos de paneleiras, oleiros. Trata-se, portanto, de uma arte inicialmente rural que, ao longo dos tempos, passará a incluir outros tipos de agentes, inclusive os moradores das periferias urbanas. O fato de seus principais autores viverem no mundo agrário, em estreito contato com a natureza, resultou no aparecimento de muitas obras que envolvem a presença de animais. Nesta obra, o artista humaniza os bichos.

藝術家

アントニオ・ホドリゲスは1951年、ペルナンブッコ州カルアルー市アウトドモウラ村に生まれた。父ゼ・カボクロに刺激され、陶芸フィギュアの技法と芸術の手解きを受ける。最初は父親が考案したテーマをなぞり、長じて独自のスタイルを確立した。「動物会議」「黒糖工場」「陶器工場」は彼の創作。作品を弛まず作り続けることで、アウト・ド・モウラの先人達の芸術を伝えた伝統的な芸術家と認められている。現在はブラジルの各州都を巡り、手工芸品やフォークアートの見本市や展示会に作品を出品している。
