作品详情
A fresh breeze blew in a spring field. This work records that wind and the flowers and grasses at my feet in the shining sunlight through the trees.
By placing the grass and flowers between sheets of Japanese paper (Usumino paper) and tapping them with a mallet, the spores, veins, and seeping chlorophyll clearly leave their original appearance.
Since the paper will turn brown in a few hours if left as it is, iwa-enogu (mineral pigments used in Japanese painting), which are color-matched to the color before the discoloration, is used for the coloring.
After that, holes are made in the surface to allow light and wind to pass through, and wax is applied in several places to make it translucent, giving it a lighter, more fragile impression.
On the back of the flower and grass work, a thin sheet of washi paper (tengujyou paper) with diagonal lines drawn in light black ink to resemble wind is combined.
When the work is displayed and wind blows, the two layers show different movements.
I would be happy if you could feel the graceful movement as if the wind blew in that spring field.

he sheer rock walls, the endless calm sea, the dazzling glow after the rain, and the bottomless black sea in the middle of the night. The “joy and fear of life and death” that I actually experienced in such natural surroundings is the driving force behind my work. Using the expression of Japanese-style painting, I work daily with the wind to express the irregular surprise like the wind and the indeterminate appearance like water.
