作品详情
代官山にある、特徴的な12角形の建物であるSOHO CORNER １Fのカフェ・ギャラリー "MONKEY CAFE D.K.Y." に2022年9月から常設されている彫刻作品です。外の通りからも、ガラス越しに作品が見えますが、ぜひ内部空間にも足を運んでいただきたいと思います。
この作品は、"SCULPTURE"という文字を彫刻にしたものです。全ての彫刻は木でつくられていますが、一文字一文字が異なる素材、仕上がりをしており、それぞれの立ち姿がとても特徴的なものになっています。あえて文字を彫刻にすることで見えてくる、彫刻というメディアの面白さ、ファインアートの魅力が伝わると嬉しいです。

Artist and sculptor
Lives in Tokyo, graduated from Tama Art University Graduate School in 2003, stayed in London in 2006, won second place at the 2016 TokyoMidtown Award Art Competition.
The concept of sculpture is taken from multiple angles, and works are created with various materials. It ranges from traditional methods such as stone and wood to paper, cloth, ready-made products, and photographic works, and even photographs are approached with sculptural ideas. The concept that connects the medium of realistic sculpture, which deals with matter and the world of images, has been worked out, and landed on the work.
来年2023年3月に、このMONKEY CAFEのギャラリー”MONKEY GALLERY D.K.Y."で個展があります。
