kakurembo -sasanqua-

“Red High Heels” often appear in my works.
Sometimes it symbolizes a woman's self-esteem, and sometimes it also represents a longing for adulthood (= young woman).
This “kakurembo” series is a work inspired by the concept of the solo installation exhibition “Dreaming Girl” held in the basement in 2019.
“I am a girl,” who continues to exist within me even when I become an adult, is going back and forth between dreams and reality, hiding and seeking.

Acrylic paint and medium are directly layered on wooden panels, and photographs of flowers and legs taken by myself are transferred. The contrast between paint slippage and unevenness and realistic photographs creates a mysterious world with depth.
Finished with matte medium, it has a unique texture. It exudes a sense of transience, like a pale dream. It is framed with acrylic paint mixed with pearls to express the nuance of “I will always be a girl.”
