KAXEL "春夏秋冬"

本作は日本の四季を「KAXEL（カクセル）」を通して表現します。８枚のKAXELと背後の植物で構成され、これら二つには「無機／有機」「デジタル／アナログ」といったコントラストがあり、その調和によって季節のうつろいを表現しています。KAXELには四季を連想させるアニメーションが流れ、１枚を通して見ると、掛軸のように季節の一瞬を切り抜き、８枚を通して見ると、屏風のように季節の変化を物語ります。KAXELはイメージソースがご提案する空間演出のためのプロトタイプです。「隠す」というふるまいで、テキストやシンボルといったアニメーションを描画しながら、同時に背後の対象物の存在を際立たせることができます。さらにセンサーと連動することで、光と影を操るインタラクティブなメディアとして機能します。

KAXEL reinterprets boundaries between people and objects by playing with darkness and translucency to hide and reveal elements in a space. By switching between dark and clear “pixels,” it displays animated text and symbols to captivate viewers while giving tantalizing glimpses of products and displays in the background. Linked with a sensor, this prototype becomes an interactive media manipulating light and shadow. This dynamic display highlights how KAXEL engages viewers while producing a space. Like a calligraphed scroll, each KAXEL frames a slice of nature. Together, they form a folding screen expressing fleeting moments of beauty. Enjoy the contrasts of the inorganic KAXEL (digital) and organic plants (analog) woven together to create harmonies of animation, plants, and environment.
