Lutringer Dominique
Artist
Artist
French artist that lives and works in Kansai
Refined and warm, Dominique Lutringer’s works employ a unique fusion of Japanese aesthetics and minimalism. A rhythm of recurring lines and patterns, coupled with profound textures and the counterplay of monochrome and restrained colors, are notable characteristics of his oeuvre.
Acrylic and graphite on paper mounted on wood panel — a hand-built structure, line after line, where two color fields meet without merging: a dense blue-green in the upper half, a warm ochre below. Over this grid, horizontal marks in yellow-green appear as flashes or echoes — neither symbols nor figures, simply presences that interrupt the regular weave of the ground. Graphite runs through the whole surface. A piece from the grid series — work on repetition, density, and what emerges when the hand is allowed to continue.
