Isao Hashinoki

Born in Fukuoka in 1980, Hashinoki graduated from the Faculty of Art and Design at Kyushu Sangyo University. His practice sets aside established meanings, valuing the new perspectives and sense of openness that can emerge in their place. Beginning with photography, he expands his practice through painting and a range of materials and techniques.
In his representative series Landscape_es.cape, the mountains serve as a setting through which he explores “escape” as the potential hidden within familiar landscapes. He has since extended this perspective to a range of other subjects. In 2021, he published Landscape_es.cape. His work has been presented in exhibitions and art fairs in Japan and internationally.
