Keisuke Hashimoto

Through a process of screen-printing paint onto wooden panel structures constructed in woodwork, whose components can be slid or interchanged, he approaches painting not as a "finished image" but as a state in which paint and support are only temporarily fixed in a given arrangement. By attending to the presence of paintings in which provisional structures and traces of ink coexist, he investigates what might be called the

"conditions of painting."
