Fátima de Juan

Fátima de Juan (Palma de Mallorca, 1984) is an artist based in Mallorca. Her first encounter with painting emerged through graffiti, working under the alias Xena during her teenage years. She later studied Illustration at the School of Arts and Crafts in Palma and Graphic Design in Madrid.

The female figure occupies a central place in her practice: powerful, broad-limbed and exuberant, embodying a tension between tenderness, sensuality and raw strength.

Her pictorial universe brings together nature, fantasy, eroticism and the tropical imaginary, where vivid colour palettes and velvety surfaces create scenes that oscillate between the dreamlike and the familiar. Fruits, vessels, stones and swords coexist with references drawn from street culture, contemporary aesthetics and speculative futures, composing a visual languageof fertile contradictions and emotionally charged self-representation.
