Born in Mianyang, Sichuan in 1997, Tang Kexin currently lives and works in Hangzhou and Nanjing. She graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the China Academy of Art in 2019 and 2022, respectively, earning her Master’s degree. She is currently a full-time artist at the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Chinese Painting.
Tang’s artistic practice primarily focuses on fine-line painting, where she is dedicated to integrating traditional techniques with contemporary themes, exploring subjects such as life and machinery, as well as memory and existence. She regards the "storage game" as a key action in constructing her imagery; by reorganizing, contemplating, and reflecting on fragments of images from memory, she allows the meaning of her work to continuously generate and reconstruct within different contexts. Her works have received several honors, including the Bronze Award at the "Flying Close to the Ground" Youth Art Project, selection for the 14th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, and the Top Ten Youth Creation Award from the Zhejiang Art Academy. In 2025.
