森の夢を I Dreams of the Forest

コロナ禍に家で空想する時間は魅力的で、子供の頃こういう時間に溢れてたなと制作した作品です。母の実家は奥深い山の中の一軒家です。子供の頃よく遊びに行ったのですが、日中楽しく駆け回っていた森が、夜になるととても怖くて家に篭ります。白熱電球に色々な虫が飛んで集まってきて、障子に影を作っていました。そんな思い出が急に作品化されて、子供の頃の自分に会えたようです。

The time spent daydreaming at home during the COVID-19 pandemic was fascinating and reminded me of how such times were abundant in my childhood. My mother's family home is a solitary house deep in the mountains. I often visited there as a child, and while I enjoyed running around the forest during the day, it became very scary at night, making me retreat indoors. Various insects would fly towards the incandescent light bulb, casting shadows on the shoji screens. These memories were suddenly turned into an artwork, making me feel as if I had met my childhood self.
