Concept and Intention of the Artwork

I am exploring the possibilities of art that non-humans can create/appreciate.

It is a painting based on the trajectory of slime mold selecting, eating, moving, and excreting pigments.

bio artist

Born in 1988 in Kanagawa Completed the master's program at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies in 2021 Hanna Saito studied the Grass Course of the Department of Craft at Tama Art University, since becoming a member of metaPhorest (biological / biomedia art platform) her work started including biological questions and living organisms. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. Student at Yasuaki Kakehi’s Lab at the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies at the University of Tokyo. Hanna has been collecting and cultivating various species of natural slime mold in recent years for her studies and artworks. Her key topics include the reconsideration of the boundaries between nature and society, humans and non-humans, and the inseparability of perception and world.
