Work Details

Concept and production intention of the work

Mainly, they are created based on ambiguous images, starting from internal experiences such as memories and emotions. By superimposing the fragility of terracotta with the inclusiveness of cotton and cloth, they are trying to give material form to things that do not exist, such as memories, emotions, or “someone's image.”

Graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Sculpture, in 2023. Sculptor. Works professionally in creating original models for medals and related objects. Through sculpture, I explore how inner experiences such as memory and emotion can take on physical form. I primarily work with terracotta, focusing on its contradictory qualities: plasticity in its unfired state and fragility after firing. By combining it with soft, embracing materials such as fabric and cotton, I aim to give sculptural presence to things that seem almost touchable yet remain out of reach—absent presences like the lingering trace or semblance of someone.
