"Touchable Painting"
This piece is from the "Touchable Painting" series, born from a desire for people to enjoy a more personal relationship with art. The series aims to encourage viewers to appreciate the art, including any marks or changes in texture that develop over time, just as one would value the character of an antique tool.
The artwork's surface can be gently touched. You are invited to enjoy the piece and discover a new relationship with it by feeling the texture with your hands, observing how the colors change in different lighting, and even choosing your favorite orientation to display it.

Artist
artist
Born on the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture in 1994, she has held solo exhibitions every year since 2016, and currently has an atelier in Matsudo, Chiba. Her works are characterized by multi-layered colors, which are created by layering acrylic paint on wooden panels. Through a unique approach called "touchable painting," where you can directly touch the work with your hands, she explores the possibilities of painting. She also actively collaborates in various fields such as picture books, music, and accessories. Artist|Azumi Kashiuchi Born on the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture in 1994, Azumi Kashiuchi’s childhood was filled with a love for painting and plants, and she was raised in close proximity to her grandmother, a psychic. Her life underwent a series of turning points, including inner conflicts in her adolescence, dropping out of nursing high school due to the onset of Graves’ disease, and living in a secluded village, which led her to seriously commit to painting. At age 23, she moved to Tokyo and, through a fateful encounter with the painter Takeshi Mashima, was deeply inspired by his way of life as an artist, leading her to fully dedicate herself to her creative work. The passing of her mother at age 24 brought her a profound view of life and death. Since 2022, she has established her atelier in Matsudo, Chiba, where she continues to explore the possibilities of painting. Her activities are centered on two main pillars: "Touchable Painting," which can be experienced directly by hand, and "E-yomi" (Painting Reading), where she creates impromptu paintings for individuals. Through her art, she hopes to inspire people to find the "treasures of their lives" and enrich their own journeys.
