About the work
This work is an experiment to see whether I could achieve the effect of my usual drawings using oil paint. I have finished it with a smooth brushstroke and a light colour palette. The theme of the painting is ‘the cruelty of angels’, which is one of the motifs that frequently appears in my work. The angels stands by in silence, watching a child who is saddened after dropping her teddy bear.

Born in Tokyo in 1997. M.F.A. in Printmaking, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts.
Her practice centers on lithography, exploring feminism and interpersonal relationships. In recent years, she has expanded into drawing and comics, investigating new narrative possibilities across different forms of expression.
