弓指寛治は、1986年三重県生まれ、東京都を拠点に活動するアーティストです。「出来事」「自死」「慰霊」などをテーマに、独自のリサーチを重ね、そこから作品を作り上げていきます。

本作は小説家の朝吹真理子との共同制作となりました。

「石巻に通い色々な方からお話を聞かせてもらったり見たり食したりたまたま体験したことから作品を作ります。まちの記憶についてのあれこれを外からやってきた僕のできるかぎり、で描きたいと思っています」（弓指寛治）

Kanji Yumisashi is a Tokyo-based artist born in 1986 in Mie Prefecture. He creates works based on original research into events, suicide, and memorials.

“This work is about the memories of a part of Ishinomaki that existed until a short while ago. An elementary school, batting cages, gas station, bicycle shop, convenience store, ramen shop, amusement arcade, and park. The area had countless streets, buildings, people, and vehicles, along with trees, animals, and fish too many to portray. I also try as much as possible to paint the town for the people living there today, based on what I heard and saw.” (Kanji Yumisashi)
