Work Details
この作品は、テンセグリティ（Tenseglity）という構造理論である立体模型の美しさからインスピレーションを得て制作した作品です。引っ張り合う力とバランスで成り立つという仕組みは、細胞組織や建築的な構造の一つとして知られています。
その線的構造の美しさに惹かれ、立体として再現したテンセグリティを二次元にしたときの形を一つの "コア" として作図したのち、平面上に "コア" を連続をさせることで作品として制作しています。
画面の全てを規則的な繰り返しの連続模様で埋めるのではなく、所々に形を反転した
部分や、形を抜いて空白をつくるなどの規則性を感覚的に取り込み、「間」を生み出す新たな視覚表現としています。
同シリーズでは、作図、版画、立体、テキスタイルによる空間インスタレーションといった作品があり、2019年のポーラミュージアムアネックス展にて展示した作品の一つです。

Artist : CONTINUUM, THE SCIENCE OF PATTERNS
幾何学的形態や文字をシンボル化し、「連続する形（模様）」を中心に制作。ゲッティンゲン大学数理科学研究科（ドイツ）、フィンランド自然史博物館（フィンランド）にて研究滞在を経て、国内外での展示、テキスタイルデザインシリーズ、 建築家とのプロジェクト等を通じ、アート、デザイン、建築など、領域を横断して「連続する世界」をテーマとして制作を続ける。ドイツにおいて、「見えない部分を構成するもの」を概念数学の世界に見たことで、近年では、模様の工学的研究の他、様々なメディウムでの作品制作に取り組み独自の世界を展開している。
