Work Details
渡辺志桜里は、1984年生まれ。全体性を主軸に、個々が集合した現象と、その個に携わる身体の境界といったものに焦点を当てて制作。渡辺の現時点での代表作である、人工的に水･生物･植物が循環しつづけるインスタレーション作品《サンルーム》(2018-) は、東京におけるオルタナティブなシーンでの発表で注目を集め、その都度、発展を重ねながら現在も展開中の作品です。また、渡辺の作品は通じて、《サンルーム》の初期において循環する水に皇居のお濠から汲み取った水が使用されていたように、一見して、”生態” や ”身体” といった問題系を扱いながらも、その深淵には常に極めて政治的な ”天皇制” への独自の視点が盛り込まれています。

Her works reiterate the idea of wholeness created by each individual component, at times melting the contact point between the self and the other, and in other instances, completely severing those points to create decentralized, parallel growth.
