Using memories and daily activities as clues, he explores the contours of being alive through paintings and drawings.
Starting from “memories of bread shared by others” in Sakhalin during the war, which my grandmother told me, I am interested in the continuity that individual experiences are passed on across time and bodies.
It is depicted as scooping up acts such as touching, eating, and gifting, and the sense of life that appears in traces accumulated in objects and spaces.
Also, flowers are treated as symbols of life that will pass through time to express signs of life and its fragility.
