【展覧会によせて】
絵には嘘がつけない。それが面白い。
バンドにおいても、演奏に嘘はつけない。
呼吸をメンバー全員で共有する。互いの姿勢や息遣いを感じ取り、スコアには記されないグルーヴ(揺れ)をつくる。私はそのようにひとつのグルーヴを奏でる絵画が見たい。
歌うことは、お腹の底に息を入れ、喉の開き方を変えることでその先の空気を揺らすこと。息の総量を確かめて、声の艶めきを調節すること。
絵も同じで、そうすると絵全体のグルーヴが合わさる気がする。
これは、極めて動物的に、飾らず他者と関係を結ぶことだと思う。
絵は、自分一人でそれが出来る。
それが面白くて絵を描いている。
