Work Details
招き猫は古くより日本で願いの対象でした。その招き猫の背景には太陽の様な光が放射線状に出ていて、それ自身からは光が溢れかえっています。 それらのイメージは私自身が幼少期より美的感覚の形成に大きな影響を与えたアニメ「ビックリマン」のオープニングから受けたインパクトの記憶のイメージにより生み出されました。 ビックリマンは登場人物に天使や日本武尊と素戔嗚尊をモチーフにした主人公、ブッタや七福神とあらゆる宗教の垣根を越えた登場人物達によるアニメで、当時の私にはとてもカオスで、それが美しくも見えていました。 そのカオスの中に産まれる美をこの招き猫に重ねて描きました。 招き猫には疫病退散の意味もあります。このコロナにより、更に混沌を極めている時代に於いて、少しでも人の心の助けになる事を願うばかりです。

Born in Hiroshima in 1982.
Completed the doctoral course at Hiroshima City University.
Studied traditional Japanese painting methods at university, and his graduation work was purchased as the first prize winner of the same university.
After graduation, won the runner-up prize in the "Debut" public exhibition sponsored by Gekkan Bijutsu.
He creates works on the theme of Japan's climate and religious views, incorporating elements considered characteristic of manga, video games, and anime into his works.
His activities have expanded both domestically and internationally, and in recent years he has been involved in a wide range of activities, including the launch of the fashion brand "awesome young" with media artist Yoichi Ochiai and designer Shinya Kushino.
His works are in the collections of Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts, Hiroshima City University, and Ryuinan, the pagoda of Engakuji Temple.
