この作品はオレチョが煮え切らない世界から旅立つきっかけとなった絵という設定の作品です。

この作品の犬のモデルはシベタンマスティフというとても大きく強そうな犬です。

その存在を知ってからずっとファンで一度会ってみたいと思っています。

「古い絵」という設定の作品なのでアウトラインを無くし、色も古く見えるように工夫しました。

この絵を見てオレチョは会いにいくんですが、伝説と事実は大分違っていて、実はとても可愛い犬でしたというお話を考えていました。

実家には犬が居て、自分自身、愛犬の介護がキッカケとなって住む場所や考え方などが大きく変わった実生活ともリンクしている作品です。

本多 孝男による複数の作品シリーズをシンボル化、融合することで誕生したキャラクター。

「オレチョ」は作家の自己を投影した表現者として作品に登場している。名前の由来は"己"を"超"えるより。
