Madness and Explosion
I will never overlook even the briefest surge of pure impulse.
Don’t become an artist who tries to be liked by everyone.
Do not flatter people.
What kind of “art” is born from pleasing others?
Let it be ugly, let it be raw —
if you love it enough to stay true to it,
that honesty is expression,
and expression is joy.
Isn’t that the greatest thing?
Because I’m foolish, I have to remind myself from time to time.
If I don’t, I start chasing “good technique,”
or wanting to be understood,
or worrying about how people see me.
That’s why I destroy it.
Art is staying loyal to your own expression.
You don’t need to protect a “style,”
or cling to the idea of “this is who I am.”
Break it all.
Be disliked— fine.
Disability, solitude— fine.
Bring it on.
On that day, I had a strong feeling of tightness in my heart since morning, and it was a day where I couldn't calm down. It seemed that a mental and physical load was being placed on me due to the effects of an event yesterday, and the “feeling of wanting to stay at home” and “the feeling of wanting to go to the beach” fluctuated, and tension continued without being able to decide on either.
There was a sense of anxiety that grabbed my chest, and when I was trying to calm my mind little by little while adjusting my breathing, the urge to “draw” sprang up for only a moment.
Rather than inspiration, it was a primitive impulse that naturally came from the depths of my heart.
I didn't miss that moment and headed to the canvas and moved the brush amidst the rustle and fatigue I had.
“Madness and Explosion,” which was completed, dared to break the attitude of being aware of understanding and evaluation of the surroundings, and the strong will to “express what you feel alive without embellishment, without flattering,” is expressed as it is.

Outsider Artist
My name is Takuya-Inoue-Higa.
I usually go by the name Takuya Inoue, but I am also proud of my Okinawan roots and my mother’s maiden name, Higa, which I now use together as my artist name.
I have been diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, and schizophrenia, and I have also experienced bipolar disorder.
I have walked a difficult path in life in my own way, but three years ago, at the age of 36, I encountered the world of painting. Since then, I have been self-taught and continue to create my work to this day.
My artistic style mainly consists of abstract paintings filled with messages such as sorrow, loneliness, pain, passion, philosophy, hope, and love.
I paint almost every day. In particular, I draw inspiration from music, weaving the messages that rise up within me into my paintings as I work.
I hope to continue creating many works and, whenever opportunities arise, to exchange and exhibit new paintings with others.
