Work Details
Washi paper / colored pencils
Part of the Reiwa Outlaws of the Marsh: Twelve Earthly Branches series, which fuses the Chinese Ming dynasty tale Water Margin with the Japanese zodiac. This piece, Red Dragon, embodies the fire of passion and renewal. As a sacred dragon that rules the southern direction, it cuts through darkness and iluminates the path forward. The light cast by its spear is not one of destruction, but of foresight and hope. A new form of energy is engraved in ukiyo-e, portraying a hero who rides the waves of the modern era.
