Work Details
This work explores sculpture by conceiving the light of a constellation and the paths through which that light passes as time. Optical fibers run through the interior of the wooden sculpture, transmitting light.
On one side of the work, light is arranged according to the positions of the constellation as seen from Earth. On the opposite side, light is arranged as it might appear when viewed from a location other than Earth. By considering the meaning embedded in the surfaces that connect these two faces, this series attempts to “touch” light through sculpture.
This work is inspired by Camelopardalis (the Giraffe).
