沢山のハチドリが花の蜜を吸いに集まっている様子
Pablo Borges（パブロ・ボルジェス）
1994年ブラジル、ペルナンブーコ州生まれ。
J. Borges の18人の子供のうち17人目のPablo Borgesは７才で版画製作を始め、現在後継者として高齢の父をサポートしつつ、ミュージアム兼工房「Memorial J. Borges （メモリアル・ジョタ・ボルジェス）のディレクターを務める。父の様になりたいと子供の頃からの想いがあり、後継者として誇りに思うと語る。 昨年2019年11月の駐日ブラジル大使館でのボルジェス木版画展の際に来日、デモンストレーションやプレゼンテーションを行った。

１９世紀後半、ブラジル北東部の庶民の間で愛好されてきた詩的形式の文学小冊子「コルデル」の表紙を飾る木版画が民衆アートとして人気になった。中でもボルジェス一家の木版画は、２１世紀の今も後継者を育て、さらに力強く、木版画の温もりとユーモラスな画風により人々を魅了します。
