Nakanishi Aya

Japanese embroidery artist

I am fascinated by Japanese embroidery, and based on that traditional technique, I make it by hand, and most of the silk cloth and silk thread are hand dyed. The joy of coming into contact with materials, techniques, and colors is my motivation for production. I create while enjoying the interaction of colors, materials, technology, and designs as motifs for things and things I think are beautiful, fun, and interesting in my daily life. Regardless of the image of traditional Japanese embroidery, we aim to create works where you can feel the beauty and fun of the materials and techniques. Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, majoring in crafts embroidery. careers 2022- Commissioned researcher at Joshibi University of Art and Design Institute for Dyeing and Weaving Cultural Resources (involved in cultural property preservation and restoration) 2019 Graduated from Joshibi University of Art, Faculty of Art, Department of Design and Crafts, Department of Crafts, Embroidery Course 2015 Graduated from Sophia University, Faculty of General Human Sciences, Department of Sociology 1992 Born in Kanagawa Exhibition history 2023 “30×30 Exhibition-LOVE & PEACE-” (Gallery×Cafe Jalona/Akasaka) 2022 “SILK x Women's Beauty - Gifts from Silkworms” (Japan Silk Center) 2021 “New Year Manpuku! “New Year's Exhibition 2021” (FEI ART MUSEUM YOKOHAMA/Yokohama) “The Sparkling of Shiraito: A Better Day” (Hashimoto Library/Hashimoto) “Treasure Silk ✕ Feminine Beauty ~ Tokimeku Embroidery Born from Silk ~” (Japan Silk Center/Yurakucho) “The Sparkling of Shiraito: Spring Minato” (Hashimoto Library/Hashimoto) 2020 “Hanana Kaori -Fuyuharu-” (Hashimoto Library/Hashimoto) “An Artful Life” (Isetan Art Gallery/Urawa) “Women's Beauty, Crafts and Handicraft Exhibition in Kyoto” (Shoeido, Kyoto) “Past and Present Pictorial Art Exhibition” (GINZA SIX Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO, GINZA) “Tangzaku Exhibition” (Isetan Art Gallery/Shinjuku) “Young Artist Whirlwind Art Art Art” (Matsuzakaya/Nagoya) “SICF21” (Spiral Hall/Aoyama) “ISETAN Kimono x Women's Beauty 2019” (Isetan Special Kimono/Shinjuku) “Nakanishi Aya Japanese Embroidery Exhibition” by Jalona (Gallery×Cafe Jalona/Akasaka) 2019 “Joshibi University of Art and Design Craft Course Graduation and Completion Exhibition 2019" (Spiral Garden/Aoyama) “Hanano Kaori -Natsu Aki-” (Hashimoto Library/Hashimoto) “Kawagoe Tradition” (Koedo Kurari/Kawagoe) “Tangzaku Exhibition” (Isetan Art Gallery/Shinjuku) (Arai Gallery/Ginza) (Matsuzakaya/Nagoya) “Hanana Kaori - Akifuyu” (Hashimoto Library/Hashimoto) “ISETAN Kimono x Women's Beauty 2019” (Isetan Special Kimono/Shinjuku) “Spinning Yamato Beauty” Nakazawa Azusa and Nakanishi Aya Exhibition (Tobu Ikebukuro Art Gallery/Ikebukuro) “Scenery with Coffee Exhibition” (Giallona/Akasaka) 2018 “New Year Manpuku! “New Year's Exhibition 2018” (FEI ART MUSEUM YOKOHAMA/Yokohama) “People Who Make x People Who Use x People Who See” (Gallery Child's Star/Daikanyama) “Women's Beauty, KOGEI, Handwork Exhibition” (LAPIN ET HALOT/Omotesando) “Tablecloth Project Flamboyant” (Spiral Cafe/Aoyama) “Book Lovers” (MOTOYA Book Cafe Gallery/Hatsudai) “Irresistibly Cute Art Exhibition” (Isetan Art Gallery/Shinjuku) “Tangzaku Exhibition” (Hakkendo, Ikejiri Ohashi) (Isetan Art Gallery/Shinjuku) (Abe Keishiro Gallery/Sendai) “Young Artist Whirlwind Art Art Art 2018” (Matsuzakaya/Nagoya) “KENZAN2018” (Tokyo Metropolitan Theater/Ikebukuro) “Akiiro Kobako” (Tapie Style/Umeda Lucua 1100, Kyoto LAQUE Shijo Karasuma, Marunouchi Building, Shibuya Hikarie) 2017 “Summer Fan Exhibition” (FEI ART MUSEUM YOKOHAMA/Yokohama) “KENZAN2017” (Arena Hall/Futakotamagawa) “One! “Duffle New Year” (ITOCHU AOYAMA ART SQUARE, Gaienmae) 2016 “Edogawa Traditional Crafts Industry-Academia-Public Project 13th New Product Presentation” (Tower Hall Funabori/Funabori) “40th Japan Hobby Show 2016 Art Exhibition to Feel Japan” (Tokyo Big Sight, International Exhibition Hall) Awards 2019 Joshibi University of Art and Design Excellent Graduation Work Award workshops 2023 “Experience Japanese embroidery to experience the beauty of silk” (Ikebukuro Community College) 2019 “Ornaments made with silk cloth and silk thread” (Hashimoto Library) 2018 “Making Star Accessories” (Isetan Art Gallery/Shinjuku)
