1980年、韓国・ソウル生まれ。現在ソウルを拠点に制作している。 イ・ジヨンは《動物園》シリーズから着想を得た「人物園（The Human Zoo）」という概念を大きな柱とし、社会が作り上げた秩序や規範の中で生きる人間の姿を記録している。鉛筆を主な媒介として精緻に描写し、人間が社会的構造の中で経験する感情や生活の風景を表している。近年は《走る》連作を通して、絶え間なく繰り返され前進する人間の動きを人生の隠喩として提示し、それぞれが社会の中でどのような選択や態度で生きるのかを問い直している。 2006年、初個展《動物園》（Jinheung Arthall／2006）を皮切りに、《人物園》（Artspace Hyun／2008）、《黒い人物園》（Artspace H／2013）、《人物園–First Apple》（Gallery Meme／2017）、《四面の家》（Gallery IN／2022）、《THE STAGE》（Gallery IN／2024）、《長い走り》（Gallery IN／2025）など、これまでに8回の個展を開催している。加えて、ソマ美術館、ソウル大学美術館、ミメシス・アート・ミュージアムなど主要な美術館の企画展をはじめ、多数のグループ展に参加している。
