Elyezer

Artist

born in Banyuwangi, 1974 Elyezer is a self-taught artist who has been active since the 1990s and is known for helping to spark artistic life in his hometown. Together with fellow Banyuwangi artists, he became part of the Satu Sama Group, a community that continues to shape the local art scene. Over the years, his works have travelled across Banyuwangi, Surabaya, Bali, Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta. He has joined a wide range of exhibitions, from The New Normal online painting exhibition (2023) to Small is Beautiful at Ijen Geopark (2023), and ArtOs Kembang Langit at Marina Boom Beach, Banyuwangi (2023). The same year, he also exhibited with the Satu Sama Group at Studio Sembilan, Banyuwangi, and in Ungkap Jagad at Jagad Gallery, Jakarta. Earlier, in 2022, he took part in Culture Shock at the UNTAG Auditorium, Banyuwangi. With a path shaped by curiosity rather than formal training, Elyezer’s journey shows how dedication and community can nurture an artist’s voice, proving that sometimes, the most powerful stories grow from the ground up.
