Work Details
写真の作品の題名は『わたつみ』です。ワタツミ・ワダツミ（海神・綿津見）とは日本神話の海の神のこと、転じて海・海原そのものを指す場合もあります。この絵は今年福岡に帰省した時に見た博多湾の海や、雨続きだった最近の天気からインスピレーションを受けて描きました。海や水、雨にまつわる言葉を題名につけたいと思い調べていたところ、全国の綿津見神社、海神社の総本社を称する神社、志賀海神社が福岡県の志賀島(島といいつつ陸と繋がってます。金印が出たところです。)にあることを知りました。インスピレーションを受けた福岡の海に綿津見を祭る神社がある。私の中にある海はそういう海なのかと、なぜか自分の中では腑に落ちるものがあり、題名につけさせていただきました。

Instead of trying to understand an event with your head, feel and accept it with your whole body, and paint it as a painting. By doing so, I hope to be able to interact with and communicate with the inner sensitivities of those looking at the work.
