Untitled, Walking in Tenma Project #037/100
Photos and colour grids of Tenma.

For the occasion of exhibiting at Gallerism 2014 (5 – 11 May at Keihan City Mall, Osaka), I showed the process of my physically walking around the venue, Keihan City Mall and Tenma, for a hundred days and recapitulates the information and colours extracted, referring to the photos taken and recorded on Instagram. The viewer will trace the histor y of the process of my art work as they walk up stairs at the venue, and become the witness of the time accumulated. The roof-top floor commands a bird’s-eye view of Tenma, and I expected them to imagine the disseminated colours by the whole installation. This is one of those 100 artworks.

Artist
Fine artist who pursues the boundary.
I paint extremely abstracted ‘landscape painting', focusing only on the single point of ‘extracting colour from the landscape’. This is a work that raises questions about the way we view landscapes in today's IT-enabled society, and aims to provide an opportunity to realise the essence of ‘landscapes’, which can now be easily recorded and viewed by anyone, while moving between the boundaries of real and abstract, analogue and digital.

Strictly speaking, my artwork is just the single point of contact between people and people, people and places, places and memories. I want to continue creating artworks that would serve as a trigger with a mission to connect us with each other, and to make viewers take a step forward to "understanding" it. Thank you for your support!
