Portrait of dazzle AD #297

The Portrait of dazzle series has dealt with ‘contemporary portraits’ that express anonymity and the uncertainty of information, but in this work the artist dares to quote famous paintings. The motif of #296 is Matisse's La Blouse Roumaine, while #297 is Modigliani's Reclining Nude with Loose Hair, and the subject is not anonymity but distance from the ‘portrait itself’.

Although the work was rejected due to the large canvas size and the difficulty in selecting a work that suited the artist's touch, it vividly reveals a different expressive potential from the previous series.

The expression that emerges between tradition and modernity, anonymity and individuality, is a rare experiment that brings depth to this series.
