Work Details
The mountains I can see from my window, the trees in my usual park, the moss I see when I commute, the flowers I saw on the weekend, and the grass I ran around in when I was a kid. Plants are swayed by the wind and “don't seem to move or start talking” from their place. However, the appearance they are seeing is a moment in their lives, and many events are happening in places that cannot be sensed by our five senses or the timeline.
There, an overwhelming amount of life swells, stretches, and photosynthesizes, overlaps with each other, interacts, and creates a quiet heartbeat that never stops. This activity has contributed to the overflow of life on Earth, promoting natural circulation, and forming the current landscape.
Let's imagine that in the stillness of life, there is a large flow that moves slowly and steadily, even without being able to see it. That alone should make the plants in front of you look even more vibrant.

Artist
Abstract artist
I am Hiroshi Kaki, an abstract painter from Oita Prefecture.
My work focuses on the feelings and thoughts we experience when confronting phenomena found in nature—cycles, irregular patterns, and unpredictable movements. I prioritize the process, completing pieces while engaging in dialogue with natural forces like the way sunlight falls or water flows.
Through my work, I hope to deepen our connection with nature, savor the flow of all things, and bring joy to everyday life. I would be happy if my pieces not only offer daily healing and vitality but also help viewers notice the subtle wonders within their ordinary routines.
