Work Details

Normally, paintings show a fixed color, shape, and image to be drawn, but I mainly create paintings where it is difficult to capture the appearance by layering aurora film on an aluminum sheet and painting the front and back.

The “Self-Portrait” series doesn't draw anything on the front for the viewer; they paint from the back side. When painting, the artist's appearance is not reflected due to the art materials used, and the colors and details selected by the artist cannot be seen from the front. The inverted characters and the reversed viewer's face appear on the screen.

The reflection effect is so strong that the surroundings are reflected like a mirror. The overall color changes depending on the brightness and color of the display environment. (See photo)
