Mint.8

I draw photos that I take casually in my daily life using drawing software on my tablet and develop them into my work.

When I find a composition I like, such as composition or color balance, I release the shutter for the photos I take every day.

When developing from a photograph to a drawing, the outline of the motif and the shape of the shadow are simplified, and the color surfaces are combined and expressed like a puzzle.

Rethink the colors on the surface that are combined like a puzzle one by one, and give them all different colors. Therefore, the number of editions and colors of my work is about 50 to 100, respectively.

This work is a series of works with the domestic cat Mint as the main motif, and although it is not sold on Mint.8, it is the first work to be developed in an art book.

It is also a work drawn for a silkscreen workshop held in November 2024 at the Numazu Civic Cultural Center in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Since this work is a canvas print, it is light, and since it can be displayed on the wall with push pins, etc., it can be easily displayed even when renting.

It can be displayed on a wall or on a stand.

Since it is an unframed work, there is no reflection of light from acrylic, etc., and you can see vivid colors.

Since the canvas is attached all the way to the back, when hanging, if it is hard to get caught by push pins or nails, etc., cut off the excess canvas, or attach it to the back of the canvas with a gun tacker or tape, etc., for easier wall display.

The number in the title is the variation number for the series.

This work is the 8th work I created in the Mint series.
