----------------------------------------------------------------- “I wanted to be a contemporary painter.

It felt natural to face something with a fastball and directly draw scenes of everyday life, and I thought it was my own that there were no lies.

However, I didn't want to be a painter who just painted landscapes or people.

Even now, painters continue their quest to paint modern paintings.”

The theme of this exhibition is “nostalgia.”

It seems that people often feel “nostalgic” when they see my paintings.

What I chose as a motif was a landscape I actually saw.

In fact, I often draw the ocean on Mitashima, local scenery, and local landscapes that seem like nothing is there.

For me, I have a special reason for drawing certain places.

This is how to choose motifs that can be taken as “indigenous” and take root in that land.

The places the artist himself is accustomed to, the land where he lives, and the casual scenery we usually see are sometimes dramatically projected in our minds.

When I face paintings, I trust my instincts. I intuitively choose shapes and colors that I feel comfortable with.

Draw the landscape you want to draw as you want.

People's feelings and words cannot be seen, but I want to appeal my “soul” to viewers through the language of painting.

The memories of that time, the feeling of that time, and the time of that time are instantaneous, moment by moment. This is because we can't reproductively feel or remember the same thing.

However, I try to capture that moment by moment, and I draw pictures while shaking my heart.
